PATRON SAINT FESTIVITIES
The patron saint festivities starts the week after the traditional opening speech for the festivities at the city hall usually with the presence of a Spanish public figure. The traditional events officially start on the first Sunday of September. Some of the most interesting events are Acte Jove de la Banyà, the share-out of drinks and sandwiches to the attendees; Cavalcata Popular, a parade; Nit de les Paelles, a public paella dinner; a homage to the elderly called Volta a Peu, giving out horchata (tiger nut or almond milk drink) for everyone.
One of the most representative events is the procession Crist de les Ànimes, whose itinerary goes from the chapel at the cemetery to the local church.

OTHER FESTIVITIES
Festivities to honour San Senent and San Abdón (Santos de la Piedra): The first local celebration in the summer, being organized by people from the oldest religious fraternity of the town for over 100 years.

Bullfighting festivities: Once the festivities dedicated to Santos de la Piedra are over, there are bullfighting festivities whose programme is made by different associations related to the bullfighting world (Comissió taurina, Comissió de festejos taurins El Poal, Penya Taurina d’Albalat dels Sorells and la Penya Centre 98). These associations take turns to organize and prepare the different evetns in August and beginning of September.
Autumn festivity: In the autumn there is the traditional procession of Santíssim Crist de las Ànimes until the chapel at the cemetery. During this day there is a big paella lunch outdoors for the people of the town.
San Antonio festivity: In the winter there is this festivity dedicated to San Antonio whose events are organized by the Brotherhood of San Antonio. According to the tradition, pets are blessed at Gran Via and big paellas are cooked for the people of the town.
Fallas festivity: In March there is the fallas festivity organized by two associations, Commissió dels Sorells and Commissió dels Albalatans. This festivity is well-known for the making of fallas, monumental figures with a critical and satirical meaning.
