Weather in Santa Cruz de Tenerife

One of the most attracting things of Tenerife is undoubtedly its climate/weather, considered one of the best in the world with an everlasting spring, mild summer and scarcely cold winters. Its almost all-year-round sunshine is one of the reasons that Tenerife has so many visitors in December and January.

The weather will usually depend on the area of the island, since there are a variety of microclimates. The south is always warmer, sunnier and less cloudy whereas the north may be cloudier and rainy compared to the other areas of the island even though temperature is always nice.

Trade winds along with the fresh Gulf Stream are the main factors that contribute to its favourable climate. The average annual temperatures in Tenerife are around 15ºC in the winter and 24ºC in the summer.
