FESTIVALS OF VILLANUEVA DEL PARDILLO
SAN LUCAS FESTIVITY
On the 18th of October the festivity to honour San Lucas, as patron saint, takes place in Villanueva del Pardillo. It begins with the opening ceremony speech and the giving of "caldereta popular," a traditional stew to the attendees. Then, there are fireworks and music performances, children activities and bullfighting events. Other activities very popular during this festivity are the contests and tournaments of Tute and mus or those of tennis, football or padel tennis.
ROMERÍA DE LA VIRGEN DEL SOTO
Every third Sunday of May the festivity to honour Virgen del Soto, patron saint of the municipality, takes place. According to the tradition, the image of the virgin is taken out on a procession until Fuente del Manchego, where there is the chapel of Villanueva del Pardillo.
Along with the procession, the people of the town organize popular dances, music performances and traditional games. Also, fun and sports activities such as workshops, football games in pairs, the scavenger-hunt game, and other traditional games are very typical.
