WHAT TO DO IN CASE OF A HEART ATTACK

Precautions:

1. Cover up the person to keep them warm.

2. Do not let them stand up.

3. Do not give them any kind of drink.

4. Remain calm in order not to increase the patient's anxiety.

5. Check breathing signs and turn the person in recovery position before calling an ambulance (grab the victim's leg and shoulder and roll him or her towards you).

Check up the respiratory system vital signs:

1. Are the breathing passages clean and unobstructed?

2. Is the respiratory system open?

3. If the answer is a negative one, turn the person into the recovery position.

4. Kneel down next to the person.

5. Put out their arm that is farthest from you at a right angle to your body.

6. Place his other arm over his chest.

7. Bring up the knee of the leg closest to you; the other leg should remain straight.

8. While holding his head and neck, turn the person to the opposite side.

9. Once on his side, move up the leg bent at the knee so that the knee touches the ground.

Check up the breathing vital signs:

1. Tilt the person‘s head back.

2. Is the person's chest rising and descending?

3. Can you hear the person breath?

4. Can you feel their breath on your cheek?

If person is not breathing:

1. Place the victim on their back.

2. Tilt their head back.

3. Chin up, hold their nose closed with one hand and start giving mouth to mouth artificial breathing with two initial quick full breaths.

4. Make sure the chest rises and descends with each breath.

5. If there´s no breathing and no signs of life, continue to the next step.

6. If the person is breathing, follow the instructions at the bottom of the page while waiting for help to arrive.

CPR

1. Kneeling down next to the person, apply thirty chest compressions in the lower half of the sternum, using both your hands, clasped.

2. Then tilt the head back and the chin up and give two mouth to mouth quick full breaths while holding the nose closed.

3. Keep up the rhythm between the thirty chest compressions and the two mouth to mouth resuscitation breaths until the person shows vital signs or medical help arrives.
