If you can get out:
1. It is important to stay calm.
2. Warn everyone in the house.
3. Help out anyoneyou can.
4. Get out in the street.
5. Call 112 and wait until firefighters arrive.
6. Do not use the elevators under any circumstances.
7. Give your keys to the Fire Department so they can access all dwellings in the building.
8. Do not re- enter the building for any reason.
9. If you cannot find someone talk to the Fire Department.
If you cannot get out:
1. Do not try to get out through the windows, wait to be rescued:
2. Before opening a door, touch it as high as possible with the back of your hand and make sure it is not hot. If it is cold, open it using it as a shield and if smoke or heat comes in close it immediately.
3. If you open the front door and there is smoke on the stairway, do not leave, close the door and use rags, towels , fabrics ... anything that can cover the cracks around the door to prevent smoke from entering.
4. Go to a window closing the doors on your way and covering the cracks.
5. Let yourself be seen, ask for help and call 112, indicating your exact location and affecting circumstances
6. If your only option is to go through a smoky room, do it as close to the ground as possible. Protect your nose and mouth with a tissue or wet towel.
How to use a fire extinguisher:
1. Pull the ring pin to remove the seal.
2. Press the lever.
3. Direct the stream at the base of the flame, trying to keep the bottle upright.
4. When dealing with a fire it is advisable to place yourself at a safe distance of at least two meters away from it.
