Carnivals
The city of Alicante dresses up colorfully during these popular fiestas that are highly celebrated by locals in February or March.
The Alicante carnivals consist of a whole week of music, costumes, pageants, parades, activities and workshops along with festivals and exhibitions that count on a massive participation and the joy of many visitors. It is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy a friendly and hospitable atmosphere, the local cuisine and the attractions provided by this magnificent town.
Cruces de Mayo
The local residents of Santa Cruz neighborhood, located on the slopes of the Benacantil Mountain, decorate their streets with flower crosses and participate in a contest in which the best one is chosen.
From 2nd to 5th May this popular and picturesque area of Alicante decorates its streets with colorful ornaments to welcome Cruces de Mayo Festival.
Fiestas of San Roque neighborhood
Declared a Traditional Festival in 2004, this celebration is held in the neighborhood of San Roque around mid- August, since 16th August is the patron saint day.
Santa Faz
This is a traditional and popular pilgrimage in order to venerate the relic of Santa Faz, guarded in its monastery. The usual celebration date is the second Thursday after Easter Sunday.

Fiestas Virgen del Carmen
Maritime procession held at the Sailing Club of Alicante and on Tabarca island in honor of the patron saint of sailors.
Summer Festival in Honor of Virgen del Remedio
The festivities begin on 3rd August with the Alborada and culminate on day five with the procession of the image of the Virgin of Remedy, patron of the city.
Easter Celebrations
They begin on Palm Sunday and finish on Easter Sunday. During this week of processions around 30 brotherhoods parade on the streets.
